The 12 cm is the perfect bush pot for one person. It's small enough to hike with but to the people that count grams it might not be your cup of instant coffee. I think it's perfect. Great for any solo trip I go on. 16cm is great for 2 or more people and good for boiling water. Day trips or car camping. The single flaw is a miserable pouring lip rolled onto the top rim.I did not leave a remark regarding versatility though having an extra little round dish was handy for gently re-warming things like tea or as a landing pad for utensils on park tables of questionable cleanliness.Cleaned easily in boiling soapy water -- though I did not scorch anything in this pot. It's a great pot for having more cooking options in the bush.1. The locking handle is very strong and durable, i have no fears about this zebra pot handle breaking under heavy use. However there is a reason Firebox videos rarely show the handle being disengaged... thats because its a total fingertip bruising, and finger pinching ordeal! A major pain in the butt and nay impossible if you need to disengage the handle while its super hot and/ or full of food. Unless you wear heavy duty leather gloves while cooking, then if would likely be easy to disengage the handle, but still messy. For this reason I try not to ever use the handle in the upright position. To be clear, its super easy to disengage the handle when the lid is also on the pot, the difficulty arises only when locking the handle upright WITHOUT the lid also on.2. Cooking with the handle down means it will get super hot. Thus I always use a chopstick or tree branch to act as a lever wedged under the clip and handle to elevate the handle away from the heat source. (Picture included)3. The tighness of the handle is not a flaw, rather its the reason this is a high quality product, but it is something to keep in mind and it does affect its usefullness as a bushcraft item. I love that this pot can also be suspended over a fire. It is very, very well made.4. I drilled holes in the upper inner pot to act as a steamer/ colander function. The customization does work but not as efficiently as i had hoped because that upper inner pot is such a super perfect fit, that it can be challenging to remove it from the bigger pan when they are both very hot and full of food. Water won’t drain in an efficient and clean manner either.5. That being said, I highly recommend this product. Its so very functional in all its parts and the passion and dedication you can clearly see in any Firebox video is just one more good reason to get this pot. I currently own 1 in each size and plan to get more because they are good for the kitchen as well as bushcrafting.6. These Zebra pots are good in the home kitchen because they have a much smaller footprint than other pots of the same capacity, also the handles dont jut up because there are no ungainly knobs. ( of course you cant lift the lid without a pot gripper or swiss army knife though) everything stacks into a nice tidy package. If you found this review helpfull, please press that helpful button to say thanks.I live and conduct my adventures in Alaska. This great little pot is definitely Alaska strong. Eaisly feed two people or make yourself two meals. Convection works well. I haven't tried steaming my food with the inner pan but it seems it will work well. Boils plenty of water to refill my two bottles of water to continue a good adventure. When not in use it holds my cookware and some matches. Could be used to carry food as well. My only misgivings is the inner bowl is too wide to go inside the pot to be used as a bakeing device. The way I move around this is easy. Just use the lid with the inner pan as a bakeing pan or I'll use some aluminum foil to line the bottom of the pot as i shove a small chicken or spruce hen in there. Definitely reccomend for bushcrafting, camping, hunting and long distance hikeing. Also good to see the company went from no bail clips, to plastic clips and now on too metal clips. This thing is big. Thing works great for a bushcraft picnic for a couple people. Not the best option if you are packing.great always wanted one ,, kitchen or camping,, love itYup. Like me you have a collection of stoves, kits, containers, canteens, bags, tarps...And I have my absolute favorite kit that is sort of put together by me. Clamshell style...so it leaks if you store food in it. So I don't store food in itBut oh what is this pretty...Locking top Sturdy Oh an insert you say? Look at me swing my lunch around...I may have wanted the bigger one...but this seems perfect. This billy can is perfect for the Backpackers campfire cooking. I also used it on top of my gasifier stove and it works great. You can really tell that this product is made with quality and care. I can't wait to take this on more trips and cooked many delicious meals with it.... :)Great pot easy to clean. Only thing I would change is the clips for the lid could be easier to remove.will last forever...2 modes for the clips - can lock just the handle (recommended when hot), or lock both handle and lid (useful for stowing)This is very good quality pot, very satified !Love this billy pot. Ordering the 14 inch also.
